Heading to the Great White North for this fantastic guitar festival! https://www.chamberfest.com/event/2025/los-angeles-guitar-quartet-guitarfest/
I grew up with Fender instruments and amps. My first guitars were Strat’s, and it seemed that every family member, friend, and bandmate owned something Fender. So while in Fullerton the other day, I had to stop by and see the old Fender factory site. Not much to look at now. But still, to imagine that every instrument and amp from the late 1940’s to 1966 was conceived, designed and built here is something!
I have a special show on February 26 in a new jazz spot in downtown L.A. called @birdsofafeatherjazzlounge . It’s a beautiful performance space, partnered with a Thai restaurant. I’ll be teaming up with bass dynamo, @ricfierabraccibass , and the uniquely creative percussionist, @monkeydrummer1 . We’ll be doing contemporary takes on jazz tunes, as well as some jazz-infused takes on pop tunes (with a few vocals!). A limited number of student tickets are available.
Hope you can make it out!

What an honor, privilege, and joy to play the amazing Town Hall in New York City today! The crowd was magnificent, all about the music. Here are a couple soundcheck pics.

Here’s a kind of “Americana jazz” version of “The Nearness of You”, another demo video I recorded last year. Some cool ambient sounds here - turn it up on some nice speakers! Amazing players Chris Wabich and Ahmet Turkmenoglu join me once again.
I’ve become a real gearhead these days! So:
Guitar:1999 James Tyler
Amp: 1966 Fender Deluxe (sweet!)
Strings and things: @daddario_strings

I’ll be playing jazz this Sunday at the Lighthouse, in Hermosa Beach. Great rhythm section: @ericsittner bass and Tim Pleasant, drums. Come on by if you’re not all turkey-ed out!

Earlier this year, I did a couple demo videos with a wonderful rhythm section: @monkeydrummer1 and @sezinahmet
Here’s a bluesy take on the standard “Come Rain or Shine”. Enjoy! Full video: https://youtu.be/ayLAwZ433Jg
